A Brief Introduction of China National Food Industry Association

China National Food Industry Association (CNFIA) is a national industry regulatory organization of the food industry , established in 1981,with the approval of the State Council .A national food industry regulation network has come into being with the successive setting up of food industry associations in various provinces ,autonomous regions ,municipalities directly under the central government and separately listed cities in the national economic development plan ,and of those under the two levels of prefecture (municipal)and county governments .In order to adapt to the needs of specialization trend of social and economic development ,a  group of special committees or subcommittees of food industrial branches have been set up by CNFIA.

  CNFIA adopts the group and individual membership system.

  The President of CNFIA is its legal representative .The secretary general takes charge of CNFIA work.

Purpose of CNFIA

  The purpose of CNFIA is: to provide food enterprises with all-dimension services under the guidance of Deng Xiaoping Theory , by taking the economic construction as the central task and adhering to socialist market economic rules ; to reflect production and operational needs of food enterprises and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests ; to coordinate and develop inter-province , inter-branch and inter-enterprise relationship and play the role of a bridge and link between the government and food enterprises so as to promote healthy development of China¡¯s food industry and satisfy the needs of the continuously rising living standards of various peoples in the urban and rural areas.

Mission of CNFIA

1.Conducting survey and research into the structure of the food industry , product mix , food production and marketing , etc .; and putting forward to relevant government departments recommendations on issues of planning , guidelines , industrial policies and laws and regulations concerning state food industry development;

2.Making studies of the nutrition development strategy with a view to promoting the rationalization of the dietary structure and food production structure and raising the people¡¯s nutrition level;

3.Implementing the strategy of developing the country by relying on science and education , carrying out technological exchanges and consulting activities ; organizing appraisal of scientific and technological attainments and new products ; actively spreading excellent scientific and technological achievements and equipment ; promoting enterprise innovation and the development of the food industry and commending and rewarding fine projects , advanced individuals and units;

4.Formulating rules and regulations of the food industry and supervising their implementation ; safeguarding member¡¯s legitimate rights and interests , coordinating inter-member relationship and reporting members¡¯ requirements to the government ; strengthening ties with group members with corporate status in different provinces , autonomous regions , municipalities directly under the central government ; enhancing professional self discipline , creating and improving environment for fair competition within the industry ; actively and prudently setting up nationwide special committees (subcommittees) of the food industry and giving guidance to their work;

5.Collecting domestic and foreign information and analyzing the developments of the industry , releasing relevant industrial information and running well the Association¡¯s newspaper , magazines and year book , etc .;

6.Sponsoring lectures , seminars , experience exchanges and special exhibitions for promoting information exchange , and organizing various types of training courses for training competent personnel for food industry and improving the overall quality of food enterprises;

7.Conducing quality supervision and regulation , organizing recommendation of fine products , monitoring their production, quality and publicity so as to improve quality supervision ; organizing and participating in the formulation and amendment of state and industrial standards for the food industry as well as supervising their implementation;

8.Strengthening ties with foreign food industries and relevant organizations and  conducting international technological exchanges and cooperation with them;

9.Developing public welfare undertakings and setting up economic entities , and reinforcing self organizational building and strengthening its own capability of providing services to the industry;

10.Conducting, with the authorization and on commission by relevant government   

   departments, pre-feasibility study on major projects of technological renovation and 

   introduction of foreign technology , and of production and business licenses of the

   industry and carrying out other activities beneficial to the industry;

The Brief Introduction of China Vegetable Marketing Association

China Vegetable Marketing Association was founded in 1987.It is a national level organization directly leading by Ministry of intern Trade of China, its 500 registered members are from vegetable and fruit industry, universities, research departments, and concemed administrative bodies.

  Its purpose is to help governments manage vegetable and fruit industry, speak for the industry and its members, promote the reform of marketing system of agricultural production and subsidiary products and standard market activities. Its functions include the industry management, information exchange, technical training, international cooperation and so on.

  The Association¡¯s basically service

1.The feasibility study on market construction, distribution system of agricultural products.

2.Information collection and distribution on agricultural area both at home and abroad.

3.Organizing exhibition ¡¢trading ¡¢forum ¡¢tech-promotion meeting.

4.Introducing members through ¡°China Vegetable and Fruit Net¡±.

5.Publishing the magazine ---<<Vegetable Economy>>.

  Main Activities in 1999

1.Assisting the construction of ¡°Three Green Project¡±(That is green market, green transportation, green consumption) on agricultural products launched by 6 central governmental bodies, 20 wholesale markets have been selected as conduct paints for the project .

2.Establishing and completing three professional committees. The Wholesale Market Committee has 80 members, the annual trading volume between members is about 43.2 million tones, accounting for 70% of trading volume through vegetables wholesale market in china. The Footsore Committee and the other two, which were formed in 1999. The Footsore Committee has 42 members, dealing with over 1000 varieties of foods with the retail value of 300 million RMB.

3.Organizing training course and academic symposium.

In 1999, the professionals and experts form South Korea, Tai Wan district were invited to give lessons to trainees from over 100 units around the country.

4.International Exchange

The routine vice president Mr. Dai Zhong Jiu  had a discussion with the president of World Union Wholesale Market (WUWM) Mr.Gonzalez in Beijing last year, In last October, a visiting group led by our association attended WUWM meeting held in Spain and many other countries in the world.

5.Our organization created a ¡°China Vegetable and Fruit Net¡± Linking with Internet, providing the members with concemed information, publishing advertisement for members without charges.

China Baking Food and Sugar Products Industry Association was set up on Jun 27, 1995. It is a social group which is composed of enterprises on producing biscuits, chocolates, icesugar, preserved fruit, instant food and frozen food, companies, reserch units, institutions and food machinery producers, and which is a first grade national association qualified with juridical person and approved by civil administration department. 

The association is an industry organization spannning across territories, branches and without the limitation of ownership which is guided by national light industry bureau. The participated units carry through with the base of equality, voluntariness, mutual benefit and democratic negociation.

The association take "serve industry" as the tenet and plays an important role between enterprises and government: actualizign management, propagandizing policy, putting forward industry programming, anticipating standard rectifying, strenthening quality supervising, recommending excellent products, communicating economic information, promoting inter introduction and outer communication, strenthening market protection, beating counterfeit and bastard, developing technology exchange, providing counseling service, organizing appraisement, publishing periodicals.
